The Novosibirsk Center for Product Certification and Quality Monitoring conducted its annual surveillance audit of the NOTIS quality management system and confirmed compliance with GOST R ISO 9001:2008.
Our quality management system was introduced and certified to the Russian GOST R ISO 9001:2001 standard in early 2008. The system was subsequently recertified to GOST R ISO 9001:2008.
The surveillance audit by the Novosibirsk Center for Product Certification and Quality Monitoring demonstrated that the company manufactures packaging equipment whose quality meets customer and regulatory requirements.
The audit began in late December 2011 and concluded on January 12. The auditors visited the company’s departments and interviewed personnel. They examined supplier management, management review of the quality system, staff training and contract review processes.
Achievements
No critical nonconformities were identified, and minor observations were accepted for corrective action. The auditors highlighted the company’s achievements in implementing the following quality-management principles.
-
Customer focus
“Organizations depend on their customers and should therefore meet customer requirements and strive to exceed customer expectations.” -
Leadership
“Leaders establish unity of purpose and direction within the organization.” -
Involvement of people
“People at all levels are the essence of an organization, and their full involvement enables their abilities to be used for the organization’s benefit.”
Improvement Suggestion System
The company’s improvement suggestion system, introduced in 2005, continued to develop. By then, 423 proposals had been submitted and reviewed by the committee, with 93% accepted and implemented. In 2011, the system was expanded to provide financial rewards not only to the employees and non-employees who submitted suggestions, but also to employees who actively helped implement them and found the most effective practical solution.
Continual Improvement
This principle is based on identifying and eliminating nonconformities and developing corrective actions. A financial incentive system rewards employees who discover the most significant nonconformities, as well as those who perform the most thorough root-cause analysis and develop effective corrective measures.
“Innovation and continual improvement” has been our company motto since 2005.
Work continued on developing and launching new products. For 2012, the company planned to introduce new machines expected to generate at least RUB 80 million in annual sales. The plan included new models of horizontal packaging machines, fundamentally new multi-head weighers and new vertical packaging machines.
Following the audit, the committee decided to extend the validity of the GOST R ISO 9001:2008 certificate.
