Packaging lines with multi-head weighers

Multi-head weighing and packaging into formed bags

This is the most popular solution for gingerbread and similar bakery or confectionery products. Gingerbread is fed to a multi-head weigher, and the measured dose is discharged into the VFFS machine, which forms and seals the package from roll film.

Multi-head weighers provide the highest output and accuracy. The system selects the best combination from several buckets, so the total weight is close to the nominal dose.

How small can the error be?

International standards and Russian GOST 8.579-2019 define requirements for packaged products. The package may be above nominal weight, but not below the allowed tolerance. In the video, the deviation is about 10 g for a 1000 g dose, while the standard allows up to 15 g.

Gingerbread is most often packed in three-seal pillow bags. The Main Series machines can also form gusseted bags and premium bags with reinforced edges.

VFFS machines with linear weighers

Gingerbread is a piece-form product. Linear weighers can work well when the individual pieces are close in weight and the total dose is compatible with the piece weight. NOTIS two-stage linear weighers use dynamic feed control to reach good accuracy at practical speeds.

1. Budget MDU-04M machine with a 1- or 2-head linear weigher. It is compact and less expensive, but forms only pillow bags.
