NOTIS designs and builds complete systems — conveyor networks combined with automatic flow wrappers — for packaging candies in flow pack (a three-seal pack format).
Several such lines are running successfully at confectionery plants across Russia: Omsk, Perm, Samara, Saint Petersburg, Tula. The line accepts candies from the production line, automatically arranges them into lanes, equalises spacing between pieces, and feeds each lane into its own flow wrapper. Stable throughput per lane is 350 pieces per minute, with peak output of 380–400 ppm. At these speeds the machine requires no operator intervention or manual correction. The same throughput is achieved on film with a cold-glue grid pattern.
A key feature of the NOTIS packaging line is its automatic adaptation to the speed of the confectionery production line. If the incoming flow slows down or speeds up, the packaging system adjusts instantly without any external intervention.
Line Configurations
Option A. Candies from a tray
Product is emptied onto a wide receiving conveyor. The NOTIS line automatically arranges the candies and feeds them to the wrapper.
Option B. One or two flow wrappers in the line

Our line accepts the incoming flow perpendicularly and rotates it lengthwise on a turning conveyor. Prior to 2020 we used a simpler diagonal-guide turn on perpendicular conveyors — you will see this in some older videos. We have since moved away from that approach to preserve product integrity, and now use turning conveyors exclusively.
Option C. Rows raked into separate lanes for each wrapper

Option D. Rows dropped into separate lanes for each wrapper
Chocolate tablet packaging with perpendicular discharge
When the production line delivers wide rows, dropping each row perpendicularly into the packaging line lane is the more efficient approach.
Option E. Manual loading
The simplest configuration — no automation, but it demands a dexterous operator.

Line Stages
1. Exit from the production line
Flow wrapping of praline candies — 500 ppm
Our conveyors accept candies from the production line, automatically matching its speed. Synchronisation requires no operator input.
Furthermore, the production line delivers rows of candies with lateral displacement — the conveyor belt typically drifts a few centimetres on its rollers every two to three minutes. The NOTIS conveyor system automatically compensates for this as well, maintaining a consistent flow for accurate, even distribution across the required number of lanes.
Our turning belt conveyors provide smooth directional change of 10°–180°. Inspection conveyors can be used for visual quality control and rejection.
2. Lane formation
Lane formation can follow the approach shown in the video above: aligned rows from the production line are transferred to a conveyor perpendicularly. Since summer 2020 we have replaced the perpendicular conveyor with a turning conveyor, preserving product shape. See the video:
Gentle row distribution to 2 flow wrappers
This video shows two-lane distribution. Multi-lane distribution is often required.
Another approach is forming a lane from a disordered group — for example when candies are tipped from a tray. The group travels across several conveyors with alignment guides. As belt speed increases, the group is drawn out into a single-file stream.
3. Phase alignment with the flow wrapper
Once candies are in lanes, the spacing between pieces must be made uniform and equal to the pack length. Pack length is calculated at design stage when the repeat pattern is laid out for the film roll, which is then ordered from a printer.
When the gaps between each candy are precisely equal, each lane feeds into its dedicated flow wrapper.

The NOTIS alignment conveyors can also be programmed to feed multiple pieces consecutively into a single pack. Last year, for example, we supplied such a line to Dubai for packaging Viennese waffles.
4. Wrapping
For confectionery plants we offer the MGU-NOTIS-135 flow wrapper with an optional feature: automatic roll change without stopping the line. Two film rolls are loaded onto the machine, and when the active roll runs out, the machine switches to the second automatically.
The MGU-NOTIS-135 flow wrapper packages small single-unit products in heat-seal film or cold-glue grid film into flow pack. All key parameters are set via touchscreen — no mechanical changeover. Three independent drives: infeed conveyor, film pull-and-seal rollers, and cross-seal jaws.
5. Weight-based group packaging
After individual flow wrapping, candies can be automatically filled by weight into a secondary pack. Such a system was designed and commissioned for a confectionery plant in the Tula region, Russia:

- Line speed automatically adapts to the incoming candy flow.
We offer quality, modern, high-tech equipment that solves your candy packaging task and saves money.
All equipment is designed and built by NOTIS
Proprietary electronics are one of the company's core competitive advantages. Controllers, electronic modules, drive control boards, and system logic were all developed drawing on extensive experience in building flow wrappers and automated packaging lines — incorporating deep knowledge of the technological nuances of such machines. The software, with its unique algorithms, is developed and continuously refined by NOTIS software engineers. The line has an intuitive interface and is operated from a single touchscreen.
Hundreds of MGU-NOTIS flow wrappers are running across Russia and internationally.
