NOTIS offers custom-built flow wrapping machines for bread and bakery products.
All equipment is entirely our own design, with proprietary controllers. We have supplied machines to manufacturers across most regions of Russia, neighbouring countries, and international markets including Dubai.
Bakery Products
This page focuses primarily on bread loaves, rolls, and baguettes. We also offer packaging equipment for a range of other bread and confectionery products and snacks. Send us an enquiry — tell us about your product and the output rate you need.
- Bread (including sliced), baguettes, rolls, round loaves
- Lavash, tortilla
- Croissants (including frozen), cookies, crackers, ring crackers
- Breadsticks, straw crackers, croutons, crispbread

Flow Wrapping Machine
Horizontal flow wrapper for bakery packaging
The Omsk video above shows the first minutes of a freshly commissioned MGU-NOTIS-210 flow wrapper at a client's facility in Omsk, Russia. This is our primary bread packaging solution. A NOTIS commissioning engineer visits your site, trains your operator, and runs the machine through every roll size together. An experienced operator needs just 3 minutes to change over to a different size.
What if the operator doesn't place a loaf in time? With the "no product, no bag" option enabled, the machine pauses film feed and waits. See how this works in the next video.
Packaging enriched rolls: large round sesame loaves
When packaging a delicate product with a soft, unstable shape, a flow wrapping machine with bottom film feed is used.
Bread Slicing and Packaging
A complete integrated solution
For sliced bread packaging we use a multi-machine line:
- a bread slicer from a third-party manufacturer,
- a NOTIS KO-NOTIS-Ts synchronising conveyor that transfers the sliced product to the packaging machine at matched speed,
- a MGU-NOTIS-210 flow wrapper.
Bread slicing and packaging line
The video above shows a line built for a client in Tyumen, Russia. The 2016 bread slicer was provided by the client for testing. The MGU-NOTIS-210 flow wrapper here also perforates the film and is equipped with a date printer.
In August 2025 we shipped our 540th MGU-NOTIS flow wrapper.
In-House Design
What does that actually mean for you?
The NOTIS design bureau has been developing flow wrappers for 20 years. We machine metal in-house and manufacture metal and plastic components on CNC equipment. We use components from world-leading suppliers — German chains, Japanese bearings. Most importantly, we develop our own controllers, circuit solutions, and software.

For bread packaging where output does not need to exceed a hundred packs per minute, standard electric drives are a more practical choice than expensive servo drives. Thanks to our proprietary solutions and unique algorithms, we have achieved outstanding synchronisation between independent drives — no chains, sprockets, or driveshafts between them. The control cabinet contains electronic modules only. Reliability is further ensured by the vertical steel plate on which all mechanisms are mounted.

The result is a flow wrapping machine that combines intuitive operation with outstanding reliability. We still receive spare part requests for the very first machines we ever built. For example, on 14 October 2022 a Moscow bread plant sent a request to replace the thermal printer on a MGU-NOTIS-210 built in 2004 — one of the very first machines of this type, not counting prototypes. Here are further service requests received in early October 2022 for MGU-NOTIS machines over 15 years old:
- "need a thermostat for an MGU from 2005…"
- "need to replace the control panel keyboard on an MGU from 2007"
- "we run MGU-NOTIS flow wrappers from 2007 and 2008 and need additional label applicator options"
Inclined Semi-Automatic Wrapper
For small output rates of 15–25 ppm
For small bakeries with modest production volumes, the inclined packaging machine MGU-NOTIS-375-NK is the ideal solution. The operator lowers the loaf into the inclined chute. The product slides down by gravity into the film tube formed below. The machine seals the seams and produces the same three-seal flow pack bag. Pack length can be set in three ways: by length, by film registration mark, or automatically by product size.
Weight-Based Filling
Round loaves, croissants, muffins, and other bakery products are often packed by weight. The video below shows rolls being filled at 450 g per pack. A multi-head weigher distributes an arbitrary number of pieces across its buckets and combines them into a precise dose. Each roll weighs over 50 g, yet the machine achieves pack accuracy within 1% — well inside the 3% tolerance required by applicable standards. The mean weight across all packs in a shift equals the nominal exactly: the system memorises each weighing and balances the average.
All equipment in these videos was built at the NOTIS plant near Novosibirsk, Russia. Like our flow wrappers, these are entirely in-house designs with our own electronics and software.

Case studies
Crouton production equipment
Did you know that NOTIS manufactures high-throughput bread loaf slicing machines for cubes, slices, and croutons? For smaller bakeries we offer a compact machine for slicing bread slices into cubes. We have also been building on-machine seasoning systems for even coating of croutons in oil and flavourings for nearly 20 years. Dozens of crouton manufacturers have chosen NOTIS equipment.
Client Geography
For bread and bakery packaging alone — not counting other single-unit products — we have served around 100 clients over the past five years in Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Ukraine, and Poland. In Russia, orders have come from across the country: the south, European Russia, Moscow, the Urals, Siberia, the Far East — including Sakhalin and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Want to see a machine in person? Let us know your region when you enquire and we'll provide a reference list.
