The international specialized RosUpack exhibition was held for the 16th time in 2011.
More than 600 Russian and international exhibitors from 28 countries presented new products across 28,000 square meters. Approximately 15,000 industry professionals visited the exhibition. NOTIS also participated, for the ninth time.
Impressions
Unfortunately, the international financial crisis continued to affect the global economy. Despite a recovery during 2010, signs of another slowdown had appeared by spring 2011. Almost everyone we spoke with mentioned it, and the trend was evident not only in Russia but also in Europe. The reasons were difficult to explain, but the effect was real. The number of exhibitors among our direct competitors, particularly Western companies, had fallen noticeably. Well-known brands such as Ilapak, Bosch and Ulma had no stands. There were no exhibitors from Ukraine or Belarus, and only a few from China. The composition of visitors had also changed.
Our Stand
That year our stand occupied 50 square meters, the largest area in the history of our RosUpack participation and noticeably larger than many competitors’ stands. We also adjusted the design to emphasize that NOTIS was a group of companies. Ten powerful spotlights were installed on a suspended truss. Unsurprisingly, the stand was always busy, with particularly heavy attendance on the second and third days.
We held at least 170 discussions, completed more than 140 inquiry forms and distributed at least 450 catalogs.
Customers were primarily interested in vertical and horizontal packaging machines. Those seeking vertical machines included producers and suppliers of cereals, snacks and frozen foods.
Among horizontal machines, the MGU-NK-300 generated strong interest. Apart from us, only Tauras from St Petersburg and Integral from Kazan brought inclined packaging machines.
We received many inquiries about packaging sausages and meat on both horizontal and vertical machines. Interest in semi-automatic equipment remained stable, and there was a view that such machines should also be displayed at future exhibitions.
We hoped that the year leading up to the next exhibition would be favorable both for the economy as a whole and for our company in particular. Major advances were expected across our product range, including new design features, drives and electronic control systems.
